How the SilkRoadSupply spreadsheet works: three minutes

A three-minute primer: what the SilkRoadSupply spreadsheet is, how rows are picked and kept current, how to judge a row before ordering, and what the sheet can and cannot decide for you.

The short version

A shopping spreadsheet is a curated, English board of real product listings — a map, not a checkout. You use it only to find and compare; nothing is bought until you paste the link into the agent.

  • It indexes by category and search, each linking to a live platform listing.
  • Same item, several links: pick using photo count, stitch detail, update date, and price read together with QC.
  • It cannot know live stock, your final price or shipping cost — those exist only on the agent side, in real time.
  • Rule of thumb: discover on the spreadsheet, confirm on the agent.

Keeping discovery and buying separate is the single biggest thing that removes beginner confusion.

How the whole thing works

1. What a discovery site is

It is a curated board of real product listings from Chinese marketplaces. Instead of hunting across apps you cannot read, you browse a tidy, searchable index — a map, not a checkout. Nothing is bought there; you only find and compare.

2. Why beginners use one

Language: finds are presented in English so you are not guessing at machine-translated pages. Speed: categories and search cut a huge marketplace down to the handful of items you want. Comparison: the same item often has several links, and a board lets you weigh them before you commit.

3. How categories, search and links work

Open a category to browse by type, or use search when you know the item. Each result opens a product page on the original platform. When you are ready, that link is what you paste into the agent — it buys, receives, QCs and ships.

4. Why discovery and buying stay separate

The spreadsheet cannot know a seller’s live stock, your final price, or shipping to your country — those only exist on the agent side, in real time. So the rule is simple: discover on the spreadsheet, confirm on the agent.

Which link do I pick? The confidence method

The same item often appears under several links with different sellers, photos and prices. There is no single “right” link — judge all four together.

1Photo count

Three or more clear QC photos is more trustworthy than one or two.

2Stitch & detail

Zoom on seams, logos and hardware — this is where quality really shows.

3Update date

A recent update suggests the seller is still active and in stock.

4Price × QC

Read them as a pair — never price alone, never photos alone.

What the spreadsheet can and cannot tell you

Knowing the difference between these two columns prevents most “that’s not what I expected” moments.

✅ It can tell you
❓ It cannot tell you
The listing, its photos and its link are genuine and viewable
Whether the exact size or colour is still in stock right now
You can compare several links for the same item
The final item price — SilkRoadSupply's quote is the real number

Read price and QC together: good QC + fair price = a solid pick; good QC + low price = great value; but a higher price with a single blurry photo is a trap, not a bargain.
