Tees · Quick checks
Good for: Cotton, printed, oversized and performance tees — basics to graphic drops.
Confirm: Fabric weight (gsm), print method (screen vs DTG), and shrinkage rate.
QC focus: Print alignment, no ink cracks, and collar that doesn't curl after wash.
Trap: A '240gsm heavy tee' that feels thin is usually mislabeled — real heavyweight holds its shape and feels dense in the hand.
GSM and hand feel
180–200gsm is a standard everyday tee; 220gsm+ reads as premium heavyweight and drapes boxy. Below 160gsm turns sheer and see-through under light. Feel the density at the hem — that's the honest tell of true weight, not the label.
Screen vs DTG print
Screen print sits on top, feels slightly raised, and lasts for years if cured right. DTG soaks into fibers for photo detail but fades faster and can feel stiff. For a single bold logo, screen wins; for full-color art, DTG.
Fit and shrinkage
Pre-shrunk ringspun cotton keeps its size; combed cotton is softer and pills less. Oversized cuts should still sit right at the shoulder. Wash cold and tumble low — heat is what turns a perfect tee into a crop.
